Before the end of 2014, 250 small stadiums will be delivered in equal number of municipalities, and thanks to Coldeportes a thousand more will be created.
The Ministry of the Interior launched this Monday the ‘Plan Decenal de Seguridad Comodidad y Convivencia’ in football 2014-2024, with the objective of eradicate the violence inside and outside the stadiums, as well as making football a cohesion and social transformation tool.
This initiative is supported by the National Football Commission, integrated by Coldeportes, the Major Division of Colombian Football – Dimayor, the Colombian Football Federation, the education and culture ministry, the National Unit of Risk Management, the National Police and the Ombudsman office.
And by the foundations Con-Texto urbanno, Colombianitos and Tiempo de Juego.
“It is a bet for the President Juan Manuel Santos, in order for all of us to overcome once and for all, the threats to a sport that brings us so much joy, and that most of us, Colombians, have practiced, in one moment of our lives.”, claimed the minister of the Interior, Aurelio Iragorri Valencia during the launching of this public politic.
Also, the head of the political portfolio said that “football helps us to strengthen family links, and tear down the walls of violence that separate us from cohabitation.”
The Decennial Plan was built through diverse participation scenarios, national forums and baristas meetings, in which all of the social actors relationated who have a relation with football participated, in order to give their expectative in relation with this sport for the next decade.
“I am convinced that sport is a key element for the peace of the country, inside the communities and in each one of the regions, and it will be a very important activity in a possible scenary of the post-conflict. This Decennial Plan turns football into a permanent politic of the State with line managers” concluded the minister Iragorri.
Moreover, the head of the political portfolio announced that the Ministry of the Interior, has as an objective to foster sport in the country’s most vulnerable areas.
